Mental Fuss


              As the event-packed 2011 came to an end and closed along with the curtain of its exhilarating and tasty movies, it is inevitable to expect on the treats that are lying ahead over the next 12 months. This year, the movie industry will certainly not fail the flick-loving mass as it creates and produces masterpieces revolving mostly around smart superheroes, teenaged warriors, movie comebacks, and other potential big films of different genres.

             So to give a hint, Mental Fuss got the line up of some of the must-watch movies that will surely be worth seeing this 2012.


                                                   
                                                     The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Starring: Martin Freeman, James Nesbitt, Richard Armitage, Sir Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis

            The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

              Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum.

             Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.



Snow White And The Huntsman

              In a kingdom ruled by tyranny, the queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) learns that her stepdaughter, Snow White (Kristen Stewart), will surpass her as ruler of her kingdom and become the Fairest in the land. However, she is told by the Magic Mirror (Christopher Obi) that if she, Ravenna, consumes Snow White's heart then she will live forever, but Snow White is able to escape into the Dark Forest. To capture her the Queen recruits a Huntsman, Eric (Chris Hemsworth), to retrieve Snow White. However, the Huntsman takes pity on the girl and instead of killing her brings her under his wing and with his help Snow White begins to learn the art of war. She starts a rebellion to bring down Ravenna with the aid of eight dwarves and Prince William (Sam Claflin), who has been in love with Snow White for many years.



The Avengers

The Amazing Spider Man

The Hunger Games

             In the ruins of what was once North America, the nation Panem randomly chooses one boy and girl, ages 12-18, from each of the 12 districts to risk their lives in the Hunger Games, a ruthless competition in which each contestant, or tribute, tries to kill the others until only one remains. The winner receives honor, gifts, and enough food and supplies to never worry for anything material again. The Games, while entertainment for the Capitol's citizens, are a yearly reminder to the 12 districts of the 13th district's unsuccessful rebellion 74 years ago.

            In District 12, sixteen year-old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) cares for her mother and sister Primrose "Prim" (Willow Shields) since her father died in a mine accident when she was 11.Prim, now age 12, has her name placed in the reaping for the first time—only once—and is chosen to compete in the Games. Katniss volunteers to replace her sister. She competes with other tributes, including trained "Career Tributes" who have prepared for the Games their entire lives, as well as Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), the boy tribute from District 12, who has secretly loved Katniss since childhood. Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), a drunk and the only living victor from District 12, mentors both Katniss and Peeta Mellark before and during the Hunger Games.



Les Miserables

Prometheus

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

             In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster ‘The Twilight Saga’, the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

          2012 is really bursting with fun-packed variety of movies. Movie-fanatics should definitely get their popcorns ready because these motion picture and more will soon be flashing in the big screen.
